CLUB NEWS
05/18/2010 - Castle soccer league has
been established we are working on sponsors and player signups.
We are looking forward to having this new league for exceptional
children.
Scholarship winners were selected.
Votes were placed for the winners without the voters knowing the
recipients names.
Officers for 2010-2011 were nominated and
voted on.
The club discussed starting a Junior
Optimist Club for High School students. Patty Peebles will get
more information.
Gary Pender District Lt. Governor presented the
club with awards and citations for activities for the last quarter.
04/2010 - Working on details for a new
soccer league for special needs children to our fall soccer program.
We will be looking for sponsors, mentors/buddies and coaches.
We are looking forward to adding this new program. Watch for a
webpage to be added soon with more details. The program will
be offered to the players at no charge.
03/2010 - Scholarship Applications
will be accepted through April 29, 2010.
03/2010 - Essay contest winner for
2010 is Janie Page
02/2010 -The Optimist Club is
moving forward with plans for a league for children with special
needs. Planning is in process.

Soccer Camp July 2009 - was a great
success. Over $1,000 was raised for Southside High School Soccer
teams. Thanks to Coach John Lohman for his time and dedication to
organizing and conducting the camp along with help from Tom Anglim
and Gregg Ward.
Soccer Sponsors 2009 - Thank you
to all the businesses in the community for sponsoring our soccer
teams without your help we would have to charge a lot more for the
players to play and a lot of the children would probably not get
to play. Thanks for your contribution. All 46 teams have a sponsor.

2009- We have over 450 children participating in the soccer program
this year. It is great to have so many volunteers for coaches, team
parents and assistants.
