05/01/2012 – Optimist Club Essay contest winner – Lee Pinkham received a $250 scholarship.
09/07/2010 - Meeting to review the soccer league. Announced that we have 12 players for the Castle League. We have 520 children playing in the Fall Soccer League. Plans are being made to host a soccer Tournament in November.
8/17/2010 - Held a club picnic at Patty & Bill Peebles – Several visitors attended.
7/2010 - Club is working on registrations for soccer. The soccer camp was a success with about 80 children participating. The Washington High school soccer team and coach ran the camp with the Optimist Club organizing it. All the proceeds from the camp will go to the Washington High School Soccer team as a fundraiser for them.
05/18/2010 - Castle soccer league has been established we are working on sponsors and player signups. We are looking forward to having this new league for exceptional children.
Scholarship winners were selected. Votes were placed for the winners without the voters knowing the recipients names.
Officers for 2010-2011 were nominated and voted on.
The club discussed starting a Junior Optimist Club for High School students. Patty Peebles will get more information.
Gary Pender District Lt. Governor presented the club with awards and citations for activities for the last quarter.
04/2010 - Working on details for a new soccer league for special needs children to our fall soccer program. We will be looking for sponsors, mentors/buddies and coaches. We are looking forward to adding this new program. Watch for a webpage to be added soon with more details. The program will be offered to the players at no charge.
03/2010 - Scholarship Applications will be accepted through April 29, 2010.

02/2010 -The Optimist Club is moving forward with plans for a league for children with special needs. Planning is in process.
